The UT118B multimeter can measure direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) voltages up to 300 V, which is sufficient for most basic service and installation tasks. Capacitance measurement up to 3 mF also allows quick verification of capacitors, which is sometimes useful for diagnosing power supplies or electronic circuits.

One of the main advantages of the UT118B is its Auto function, which automatically recognizes the parameter being measured without having to manually switch ranges.
