Seals and weatherstrips stop draughts, noise and heat loss through window and door gaps – a cheap way to cut the heating bill. The category includes self-adhesive EPDM rubber weatherstrip for windows and doors in D profile 10x12, 12x14 and 21x15 mm, P profile and E profile in white, brown and black, available in 6 m packs and 2x50 and 2x75 m rolls priced per metre, plus tesa P profile seal and DGP 15x3 mm seal in 100 m rolls for professionals. E profile suits 1–3.5 mm gaps on new windows, P profile 3–5 mm, D profile 3–7 mm on old wooden doors and windows with a wide gap. The rubber stays elastic from −40 to +90 °C and does not crack in winter. When choosing, measure the gap with plasticine or a sheet of paper and take a profile with 1–2 mm margin; clean and degrease the frame before applying, and fit at +5 °C or warmer.
