Thermal pastes — Description
Thermal paste fills the microscopic gaps between the processor and the cooler – without it the air gap raises temperature by 20–30 °C and the computer runs loud or throttles. The category lists Noctua NT-H1 in 3.5 and 10 g and NT-H2 3.5 g, Thermaltake TG-30 4 g at 4.5 W/mK, Endorfy Pactum 4 4 g, Natec Husky 4 g and Husky Pup 0.5 g for a single swap, Savio TG-01 2 g at 4.7 W/mK, Asus ROG Strix RG-05, Qoltec pastes at 5.15 W/mK 30 g, 1.93 W/mK 30 g and 4.63 W/mK 100 g for service shops, plus a Qoltec thermal pad 0.975 W/mK 5 g. Conductivity of 4–5 W/mK is a good level for an everyday and gaming PC – the gap between Noctua NT-H2 and a cheap 1.93 W/mK paste is 3–5 °C under load. NT-H1 is non-conductive and safe if it reaches contacts, lasting 5 years without drying out. A pea-sized 0.2 g dose covers a CPU, so a 3.5 g tube is good for 10 swaps, 100 g Qoltec for a service shop. A thermal pad suits a chipset and memory with an uneven gap. Choose by use – low-viscosity NT-H1 or Pactum 4 for a laptop, NT-H2 for a gaming PC, Qoltec 100 g for service. Clean off old paste with isopropyl alcohol. Fast delivery across Latvia.
