The Shelly Wave i4 LR is a smart input module designed for convenient control of Z-Wave devices and automation systems without replacing existing switches. It utilizes the latest Z-Wave 800 Series and Z-Wave Long Range technology, ensuring stable communication over distances exceeding 1 km in a direct line. The Wave i4 LR model functions as a signal reader from switches and buttons, which then controls other devices on the Z-Wave network, rather than containing relays itself. The module is installed behind an existing switch, meaning the upgrade does not alter the appearance of your installation or require complex rewiring. With the Multi-click feature, you can assign up to 4 different actions to each of the 4 inputs, providing a total of up to 16 possible actions. For instance, a single press could turn on lights, a double press could close blinds, and other combinations can activate custom scenes or control other Z-Wave devices. In Z-Wave Long Range mode, it connects directly to a compatible ZWLR gateway, offering stable communication over 1 km in open areas. For Z-Wave Plus networks, it operates at 868.4 MHz and utilizes a mesh topology, where mains-powered devices extend the communication range, achieving up to 40 meters indoors. The Shelly Wave i4 LR enables manual triggering of scenes and synchronized actions among Z-Wave devices.
